Tourist arrested for alleged shoplifting at Changi Airport

ANN/THE STRAITS TIMES – Singapore authorities apprehended a 38-year-old woman suspected of stealing a belt valued at over SGD800 and cosmetics totalling nearly SGD200 from shops within Changi Airport’s transit area.

The thefts, which occurred approximately two months prior, were reported to the police on February 21.

Despite identifying the suspect, believed to be a tourist, shortly after the incident, law enforcement couldn’t apprehend her as she had departed Singapore shortly thereafter.

However, upon her recent return to Singapore, she was arrested.

Preliminary investigations revealed that on the day of her arrest, she allegedly pilfered an additional batch of cosmetics valued at more than SGD400 from Changi Airport.
