Jerudong International School (JIS) Principal Nicholas Sheehan congratulated its Year 11 students for their outstanding International GCSE (IGCSE) results.
“These achievements reflect their dedication and hard work, and we are excited to see them excel as they continue their educational journey,” he said.
Some 179 students obtained excellent results in their June 2023 IGCSE examinations where 58.9 per cent of all grades awarded were either an A* or A grade (Level 9, 8 or 7).
Around 92.9 per cent of the students received Grades A*-C (Levels 9-4) overall and some also showed strong subject performances across the school.
Li Jia Chong (Bruneian) and Mélanie Poulain (British) both achieved an outstanding 10 A* or A (Level 9, 8 or 7) in all their subjects.
Bruneian Ministry of Education (MoE) Scholarship student Haris Romi Irwin achieved 9 A*/A Grades (Level 9-7). Bruneians Jia Hui Tan and Abby Ting also achieved 9 A*/A grades.
A further 19 international students also achieved 9A*/A grades – Hamza Anjum (Pakistan), Will Bell (United Kingdom), Rahul Dhara (India), Abdullah Faique (Pakistan), Rebekah Grajewski (UK), Sana Hamid (Pakistan), Anima Hasan (Bangladesh), Sienna Holmes (UK), Neeha Kanan (Malaysia), Yajna Karri (India), Iggy Malik (UK), Lotam Mike-Ikebudu (Netherlands), Dhurg Mohana Krishnan (Malaysia), Nicholas Morgan (Canada), Rodion Rakhimzyanov (Russia), Marianne Sequeira (India), Olivia Smith (New Zealand), Jasmine Turton (UK), Manya Verma (India) and Hannah Yusri (Malaysia).
Meanwhile, Brunei MoE scholarship students – Jazmina Azman, Nasriyah Nor Asilin and Najihah Nor Asman – achieved 8 A*/A grades (Level 9-7).
Bruneians Nadhirah Amirul Adly, Safiya Khalifah, Clara Ang, Daniel Azizan, Alesha Ng, Syasya Hamsani, Ariesya Suhaimi, Rayyan Kamaluddin and Phoebe Yip also achieved similar results.
International students Katie McCambridge (UK), Nadia Mohd Shahrulnizam (Malaysia), Clemens Bindseil (Germany), Balqish Muhd Islahuddin (Malaysia), Sarah Chng (Singapore), Amanda Goh (Malaysia) and Akshita Gopinath Lakshmi (India) also achieved 8 A*/A grades.
Meanwhile, 26 students achieved 7 A*/A Grades (Level 9-7) from their IGCSEs including another MoE scholarship student Zaim Azri.
