Firefighters saved a number of cats while battling a two-storey house fire at Kampong Telanai on Thursday.

The cats were the home owner’s pets. No fatalities or injuries were reported.

Twelve firefighters from the Bandar Seri Begawan Fire Station, with support from the Beribi Fire Station, led by Acting SO Haji Samsuddin bin Haji Abdul Wahid and Acting ASO Pengiran Jefri bin Pengiran Haji Aliuddin, were dispatched to the scene, the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) said.

Firefighters found the house engulfed in flames and worked to bring the fire under control in five minutes.

The cause and estimated losses are under investigation.

Acting Deputy Director Haji Nohi Irwan Surkaki bin Haji Pawi and Acting Assistant Director of Operation Noor Aflan bin Kachi and Acting ASFR Muhammad Hazwan bin Mawang oversaw the operation.
