The Chinese Chamber of Commerce Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) hopes that the participation of young individuals can inject new ideas and creativity to the association to achieve greater heights in the future, its president Malcolm Lim said yesterday.

He said this at an event where 33 students received recognition for achieving excellent academic results in 2021 at the Student Merit Award presentation ceremony for members of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce BSB at Mahligai Hall of The Airport Mall.

Malcolm Lim also highlighted that the COVID-19 pandemic affected normal classroom learning as well as examinations for the past two years. “Since the second wave, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce BSB did not organise any activities adhering to the Ministry of Health’s directive. Today, we were able to organise the 2021 Student Merit Award for members of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce BSB.”

He said this year’s award ceremony saw 35 applications with 33 students fulfilling the requirements. He also said the Chinese Chamber of Commerce BSB has over 700 members.

Head of Culture and Education of Chinese Chamber of Commerce BSB Sng Teck Ann congratulated the students who received the merit awards.
