July, oh, July! Feast your eyes on a new set of Netflix Original shows to binge or unwind to this month.

The streaming platform’s got you covered from movies to series, as well as animations in both English and non-English languages.

WHAM!

Released on July 5, a highly anticipated music documentary directed by Chris Smith offers audiences an exclusive peek into the personal archive of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley of the iconic British band.

The captivating film showcases a treasure trove of never-before-seen footage, providing an intimate and extraordinary look into the lives of these celebrated musicians.

The documentary features rare and candid interviews that have never been heard before, adding a layer of intrigue and authenticity to the overall viewing experience.

THE LINCOLN LAWYER (SEASON 2 PART 1)

Coming to Netflix on July 6, Lincoln Lawyer is currently one of the streaming platform’s most popular legal dramas and making a return as a split season this month, with the second part arriving in August 2023.

Mickey Haller, a nonconformist idealist, operates his legal practice from the rear seat of his Lincoln vehicle, handling cases throughout the sprawling city of Los Angeles.

Featuring a star-studded cast with the likes of Ellen Barkin, Adam Devine, Nina Dobrev, and Pierce Brosnan, the action comedy film directed by Tyler Spindel released on July 7 sees a young bank manager, Owen Browning (played by Adam Devine), finding himself in a perplexing situation.

The bank he works at falls victim to a notorious gang of criminals called the “Ghost Bandits”.

Curiously, this robbery takes place during the week leading up to his wedding, and certain clues give rise to suspicions that the culprits could be none other than his soon-to-be in-laws, who recently arrived in town.

THE DEEPEST BREATH

Laura McGann directs this documentary piece that is set for release on July 19, centring on a champion freediver training to break a world record, aided by an expert safety diver.

SUPA TEAM 4

Anticipated animated series aimed towards younger audiences, Supa Team 4, will be released on the streaming platform on July 20.

As per the official Netflix page for the show, its audience can expect “in the neo-futuristic city of Lusaka, Zambia, four scrappy teen girls join a retired secret agent on a quest to save the world! On a budget.”

THEY CLONED TYRONE

July 21 will see the long-awaited series containing a mixture of action, comedy and science fiction as a sequence of uncanny events pushes an unlikely trio on a path of a despicable government scheme.

The lead roles are played by John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, and Jamie Foxx, and directed by Juel Taylor.

HAPPINESS FOR BEGINNERS

Starring Ellie Kemper, this upcoming romantic comedy is an adaptation of the novel The Adventure of a Lifetime by Katherine Center.

The film that will be released on July 27 revolves around Helen, a recently divorced woman who has always played it safe in life. Seeking a fresh start and a newfound ability to embrace life and love, she decides to enrol in a survival course touted as the Adventure of a Lifetime.

Joining her on this journey are a group of eccentric strangers who are also searching for personal growth and second chances.

MY HAPPY MARRIAGE (SEASON 1)

This Japanese anime series released on the platform on July 5 in one of the highly anticipated adaptation of the fantasy light novel series written by Shōsetsuka ni Narō.

The story of My Happy Marriage revolves around an arranged marriage between a discontented young woman and a formidable army commander. Initially distant and cold towards each other, the two gradually develop feelings of love and affection.

The series explores their journey of self-discovery, as well as the evolution of their relationship to a genuine connection.

PARADISE (2023)

Filmed across Lithuania and Berlin, this exciting new sci-fi thriller that is set for release on July 27 is an ambitious production from Netflix Germany. Directed by Boris Kunz, the movie delves into a captivating premise set in the not-too-distant future.

The official synopsis sets the stage for the story: “Trade your life – for money: In the not-too-distant future, a method of transferring years of your life from one person to another has changed the world forever and turned biotech start-up AEON into a billion-dollar pharmaceutical company.”

Also set for release on July 27, this Mexican crime docuseries is set in the heart of the city as a string of brutal murders has left the police perplexed and at a standstill.
