DAMASCUS (XINHUA) – Three people were killed yesterday when an explosive device was detonated along a road in Mahja, a town in Syria’s southern Daraa province, according to a statement from the Daraa Police Command.
The bomb, planted by unidentified individuals, exploded beside a secondary road, the police said.
Authorities have launched an investigation, and no group has yet to claim responsibility for the attack.
Despite a 2018 reconciliation agreement that restored government control, Daraa province, located with the Jordanian border, continues to experience intermittent violence.
