Three young local players from the DPMM FC under-20 team have been accepted to play for Woodlands Warriors FC Singapore ahead of the Geruda International Cup Under-17 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The three 17-year-olds – Mohammad Adrian Zikry bin Mohammad Nor Khairi, Mohammad Adrian Zizry bin Mohammad Nor Khairi and Safwan Zawawi bin Sazalee – have all signed a three-month contract with the Singapore club.
The signing represents a milestone for both club and country to have age group or junior players lacing up for a foreign outfit.
The three players, who left the country yesterday, are expected to train for the first time with the club today.
