Three locals were detained by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) on Wednesday morning for allegedly involved in gambling activity at a house in Batu Bersurat.
According to the RBPF, a raid was conducted on the gambling activity by personnel of the Gambling Suppression and Anti-Vice Unit, Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
During the raid, the suspects attempted to run away, but were caught when personnel entered the premises.
The suspects and evidence were brought to the CID for further investigation under Chapter 28 of the Common Gaming Houses Act.
The RBPF reminded the public that gambling is a social ill that needs to be curbed accordingly.
