The Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED) through its Law Enforcement Division recently seized 4,610 cartons of cigarettes and 180 bottles of alcohol during a joint operation at a river around Pulau Berambang. Personnel also seized three 21-foot long boats as well as engines used to transport the contraband.
The operation involving personnel from the Marine Police of Royal Brunei Police Force and Joint Force Headquarters, Royal Brunei Armed Forces, targetted two waterway areas of Kampong Bolkiah ‘B’ and around Pulau Berambang. The seized contraband were brought to the enforcement office to be destroyed.
