Both local residents and tourists from all walks of life gathered in Bandar Seri Begawan yesterday to greet the royal couple, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Anisha Rosnah binti Adam.
Thousands lined the streets, waving their flags and greetings, bringing music, cheers and excitement to the capital.
A portion of the crowd watched Majlis Istiadat Bersanding Pengantin Diraja at Istana Nurul Iman, livestreamed on a giant screen at the Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam building.
The much-anticipated procession began soon after Majlis Istiadat Bersanding Pengantin Diraja at Istana Nurul Iman.
His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen wore a military uniform while Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Anisha Rosnah was in a long, elegant white dress adorned with sparkling jewels.
They stood in an open-topped Rolls Royce, flanked by officials carrying royal regalia, and waved to the eager and excited crowd as they travelled through the capital.
The Royal Procession, steeped in centuries-old tradition and pageantry, was broadcasted live on Radio Television Brunei and other livestreaming services. – Azlan Othman
