Third batch of intending haj pilgrims departs for Madinah

The third batch of intending haj pilgrims departed for Saudi Arabia boarding Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) BI4205 from Brunei International Airport yesterday.

The 253 intending haj pilgrims are expected to land in Madinah at 2.40pm, Madinah time.

Accompanying the pilgrims are seven officers from the Haj Affairs Medical Office and Darussalam Services Sdn Bhd (DSSB), as well as officers from other haj package providers.

Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and spouse, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar and spouse, and Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam Mohammed Abdullah Al-Buraithin were present at Brunei International Airport to bid the pilgrims farewell.

A Doa Selamat was recited by Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Suhaili bin Haji Metali Al-Hafiz while the call of Azan was lauded by Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque Imam Haji Hamdini bin Haji Garif. – Rokiah Mahmud
