Magistrate Abdul ‘Azim bin Othman yesterday handed a year’s jail sentence to a Bangladeshi national and a local after they pleaded guilty to theft.
Twenty-four-year-old Sajib Pal and 31-year-old Awangku Abdul Hakeem bin Pengiran Affenday stole several aluminium sheets, a bundle of cut wires, kitchenware, speakers, electrical appliances, a bag, religious artworks, a crystal pitcher fibreglass repair kit, dent repair kit and a container from a seemingly vacant house in Kampong Kilanas at noon on December 19.
Prosecutor Abdul Musawwir bin Haji Awang Mahli said a public member noticed a suspicious car parked outside the house and lodged a police report. – Fadley Faisal
