Their Majesties perform Umrah in Makkah Al-Mukarramah

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam arrived in Makkah Al-Mukarramah on Thursday.

Accompanying Their Majesties were members of the royal family.

Prior to leaving Madinah Al-Munawwarah, Their Majesties performed the Ziarah Wida’ to the Maqam of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Upon arrival in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Their Majesties were welcomed by Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Foreign Trade as the Minister-in-Attendance Dr Majid bin Abdullah Alkassabi.

While in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Their Majesties performed Umrah.

Umrah is an act of worship highly encouraged in Islam by visiting Baitullah in the holy city of Makkah and can be performed at any time of the year.

It is also known as “minor pilgrimage” or also known as “lesser Haj” that purifies pilgrims and to seek forgiveness from Allah the Almighty.
