Their Majesties in Malaysia for state visit

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Wednesday for a state visit to attend the 24th Annual Leaders’ Consultation on Thursday and Friday.

Upon arrival at Subang Air Base, Their Majesties were welcomed by Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah; Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Arif Temenggong Pahang Tengku Fahd Mua’adzam ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah; Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, and spouse Dato’ Seri Dr Wan Azizah binti Ismail; Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Senator Datuk Seri Diraja Dr Zamry Abdul Kadir; Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office as the Minister in Attendance Senator Dato’ Setia Dr Haji Mohd Na’im bin Haji Mokhtar, and spouse; High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam Dato’ Raja Reza bin Raja Zaib Shah; and spouse.

Also present to greet Their Majesties on arrival were High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud bin Haji Saidin and spouse.

Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia established diplomatic relations in January 1984, enjoying warm and close cooperation in various areas of mutual interest including trade and investment, defence, education, tourism and connectivity as well as health. The previous Annual Leaders’ Consultation between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia was held on April 5, 2021 in Bandar Seri Begawan.

Accompanying Their Majesties was Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Meanwhile, before leaving Istana Nurul Iman, a Doa Selamat was recited by State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned. Present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar in Rimba to bid farewell to Their Majesties were members of the royal family.

Also present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar to bid farewell were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria; Cabinet ministers; members of the Privy Council; deputy ministers; the Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force; the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces; and Acting High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam; with their spouses.
