His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam, arrived in Madinah Al-Munawwarah on Tuesday.
Accompanying Their Majesties were members of the royal family.
Upon arrival in Madinah Al-Munawwarah, Their Majesties were welcomed by His Royal Highness Prince Saud Khalid Al-Faisal, Deputy Governor of Madinah.
While in Madinah Al-Munawwarah, Their Majesties visited the Maqam of Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam and performed Subuh prayer as well as ibadah at Raudhah in An-Nabawi Mosque.
For Muslims, An-Nabawi Mosque is the second most holiest place after the Masjidil Haram in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and the second mosque after the Quba Mosque was built by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) when the prophet (pbuh) made the pilgrimage to Madinah. The mosque has a sacred area namely Raudhah ul-Jannah (Gardens of Heaven) because of its sacred nature as mentioned in the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh); including the tombs of the prophet’s (pbuh) companions, Sayyidina Abu Bakar As-Siddiq and Sayyidina ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab.
The mosque is a centre of worship and religious activities, not only for Muslims in Madinah but also from all over the world as well as for Muslims to perform Haj and Umrah.
