‘The people’s well being is the priority’

Maintaining the well-being of citizens and residents will continue to be the priority to ensure socio-economic stability, which includes providing basic necessities and services to the people, including the lower-income group.

This was said by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah during the 19th Legislative Council session yesterday.

The minister shared that a BND11.3 million budget with a cost price of BND926.7 million under the 11th National Development Plan (RKN 11) and BND14.5 million recurring expenses have been allocated to the Ministry of Development (MoD) to maintain and upgrade the road network system.

BND34.8 million with a cost price of BND234.4 million under the RKN 11 and BND26.4 million recurring expenses have been chanelled to the MoD, through the Public Works Department (JKR), to construct, upgrade and replace water supply assets.

In ensuring the stability of the electrical supply network, the minister said BND69.2 million with a BND335.7 million cost price under the RKN 11 and BND83.5 million recurring expenses have been allocated for the Department of Electrical Services for upgrading and maintenance works.

In his deliberation, the minister said to improve access in meeting the public’s need for home ownership, BND65.1 million with BND195 million cost price under the RKN 11 will be provided for house construction under the National Housing Scheme (RPN).
