BANGKOK (ANN/THE NATION)Thailand has introduced its first high-performance race car, the T63, marking a milestone in the nation’s automotive ambitions. The T63, launched by TERA S Motor Co., Ltd., aims to elevate Thailand’s presence in the global motorsport arena and establish the company as a premier hypercar manufacturer.

The debut of the T63 at the PT Songkhla Grand Prix 2024 last weekend highlights Thailand’s commitment to advancing automotive technology, with the country’s automotive industry taking strides toward global recognition. Sint Teeraniti, founder and CEO of TERA S Motor, shared that this achievement reflects a comprehensive approach to innovation, encompassing cutting-edge design and the production of quality automotive parts, thereby reducing reliance on imports.

Founded in 2019, TERA S Motor is on a mission to produce world-class race cars that showcase the skills of Thai engineers engaged in research, production, and vehicle assembly.

“We blend advanced automotive technology with the art of racing to create the T63, designed to meet the demands of today’s racers,” Sint told media representatives.

The T63 is equipped with a 2-litre turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine that delivers 350 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. While the engine’s manufacturer remains undisclosed, the car features a double-wishbone suspension system that can be fully adjusted to meet varying race track conditions.

Constructed from carbon fibre and high-grade steel, the T63 boasts a lightweight body of only 900 kilograms, enhancing its agility on the track. Additional features include a sequential transaxle manual gearbox with paddle shifters for rapid, smooth gear changes, a Motec M142 ECU, and a colour Motec Dash C125 that provides performance data to allow racers optimal control. The car’s Power Distribution Module, provided by ECU Master, ensures efficient power management.

Every stage of the T63’s production has been handled by Thai technicians, from structural design to component assembly, exemplifying the precision and dedication of local expertise.

“TERA S Motor’s journey has been driven by rigorous research, development, and refinement by a new generation of Thai engineers, ensuring that each part of the T63 delivers peak performance,” Sint said.

In addition to its technical accomplishments, TERA S Motor is committed to fostering young talent in Thailand. The company collaborates with leading educational institutions, offering students opportunities to develop automotive skills and encouraging future participation in the motorsport and automotive industries.

Looking forward, TERA S Motor’s vision is to produce a road-legal hypercar, aiming to become Thailand’s first hypercar brand and establish itself on the world stage with a product of national pride.
