A total of 10 teams involving 170 players are competing in the Badminton Team Tournament held in conjunction with the 51st birthday of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The tournament, which started on Monday night, is organised by Syarikat Othman & Associates Consulting Engineers and Selected Stars MD92 Football Team with the cooperation of the Brunei Darussalam National Badminton Association and the Youth and Sports Department.
A total of four categories are contested including the veteran 50 years and above, men’s open, men’s under-23 and women’s open.
The tournament aims to enliven His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah’s 51st birthday besides fostering relations among shuttlers in the country.
