Temporary closure of selected petrol stations for inspection

A number of fuel stations will be temporarily closed for routine verification of fuel dispensing pumps by the Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE), through the Weights and Measures Unit (SDT) under the Ministry of Finance and Economy.

The verification process, carried out under Chapter 151 of the Weights and Measures Act 1983, ensures all weighing and measuring machines used for trading purposes to be checked for their accuracy and validity, and whether the machines have already been registered with the SDT.

For the safety of the public and workforce, the affected fuel stations will be closed from 9am until the completion of the inspection, which is expected to take approximately two hours. The inspection is conducted three times annually.

The fuel stations affected are: Tumasek Fuel Station on September 4; Mar’azmala Petrol Station on September 5; and Berakas Petrol Station on September 7.

Syarikat Perniagaan Melayu Sdn Bhd Fuel Station in Belait District will be affected on September 11; Kampong Keriam Fuel Station (Pakatan Tutong) in Tutong District on September 17; and Batang Duri Fuel Station in Temburong District on September 25. – James Kon
