Temporary closure of petrol stations in December

The Weights and Measures (SDT) Unit under the Ministry of Finance and Economy will carry out fuel pump accuracy checks at several petrol stations throughout December.

The inspections are mandated under the Weights and Measures Act 1983, Chapter 151, to ensure that all fuel dispensing pumps are accurate, valid and registered with the SDT Unit.

To ensure the safety of the public and the workforce involved, the affected fuel stations will be temporarily closed from 9am until the checks are completed. The process is expected to take approximately two hours.

The routine inspection, conducted three times a year, will affect: TAIB Beribi Petrol Station on December 5; Syarikat Kerjasama Kampong Tanjong Nangka (Satenaga) Petrol Station in Kampong Tanjong Nangka on December 7; Pengalayan Petrol Station in Kampong Kapok on December 9; Syarikat Badan Tanmiah Petrol Station in Kampong Limau Manis on December 10; Perkhidmatan Lumut Petrol Station on December 12; Koperasi Kampong Sungai Teraban Berhad Petrol Station in Kampong Sungai Teraban on December 17; and PHA Bakar bin Jambol Petrol Station in Kampong Suran, Tutong on December 23.

The public is advised to plan their visits to petrol stations accordingly during the period. – James Kon
