Arbi bin Haji Shahari received a majority of votes during the election for Penghulu of Mukim Bangar, Mukim Batu Apoi and Mukim Labu Zone 1 in the Temburong District on Sunday.
The 44-year-old was the sole candidate, and received 322 out of 358 votes, with nine against and another two votes declared spoilt.
Voting via drive-through was conducted at three venues – the Community Hall Complex in Pekan Bangar; Balai Raya OKS Haji Tuba in Kampong Senukoh, Mukim Labu; and Balai Raya Kampong Selapon.
The voting was conducted using ballot papers, while voting via the E-Undi PMKK mobile app started on October 13.
The result of the voting was announced by Temburong District Officer Pengiran Muhammad Ameer Mubarak bin Pengiran Haji Hashim.
The voting outcome will be presented to the Board of Appointment, Discipline and Procedures for Mukim Penghulu and Village Head at the Ministry of Home Affairs for further processing. – Rokiah Mahmud
