Temburong businesses found complying with the law

Businesses in the Temburong District were found to have adhered to the Price Control Act 1983 and Weights and Measures Act during a joint operation by officials on January 27.

Officials from the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (JPES), the Weights and Measures Unit (SDT) and the Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) of the Ministry at Finance and Economy (MoFE) participated in the operation.

Businesses in Mukim Amo and Mukim Bukok were found in compliance with Chapter 142 of the Price Control Act by refraining from selling controlled products above maximum prices while displaying accurate pricing for items such as cooking oil and milk formula.

The SDT found nine units of weighing and measuring equipment at business premises to be valid, accurate and approved by authorities.

The inspection is regularly carried out to enforce Chapter 142 of the Price Control Act and Chapter 151 of the Weights and Measures Act 1983.

The operation aims to foster compliance in the Acts among businesses while ensuring an ethical business environment.
