Progresif Sdn Bhd issued a statement yesterday addressing the recent surge in fraudulent activities targeting customers.
The company observed a rise in social engineering scams, particularly through phishing attempts where scammers impersonate Progresif agents, aiming to gain unauthorised access to customers’ Progresif CARE+ accounts.
In the few instances, scammers have been reaching out to customers via calls and WhatsApp calls, requesting sensitive information such as log-in details or one-time passwords (OTPs). Subsequently, unauthorised transactions have been attempted on customers’ accounts. Progresif thus urges customers to remain vigilant and take precautions against such scams.
Progresif also assures customers that it will never ask for log-in details or OTPs over the phone or any other communication channel. Customers are advised never to reveal passwords, OTPs or personal details to anyone and are encouraged to contact Progresif official customer service channels if they have any concerns or suspicions regarding the legitimacy of a call.
Progresif also urged customers to play an active role in maintaining a secure telecommunications environment.
“Your vigilance is crucial in helping us provide you with better service,” the company said.
Customers who believe they have been targeted by a scam or have encountered suspicious activity can contact Progresif’s customer support through the Progresif Customer Experience Centre at 177, via WhatsApp at 8220177 or by emailing contact@progresif.com.
