Teens break record by visiting all London Underground stations

(UPI) – In a quirky twist of teenage enthusiasm, a group of eight British teens have taken their love for public transport to new heights by smashing a Guinness World Record on the London Underground.

The adventurous group, aged 16-17, embarked on an epic journey, visiting all 272 London Underground stations in a record-breaking 18 hours, 8 minutes, and 13 seconds.

Calling themselves “The Amersham Ambushers,” these teens had to navigate every Underground stop using only public transport.

Their mission, aptly named “The London Tube Challenge,” had already seen two previous attempts fall short, but they finally struck gold on their third try.

“We wanted to complete this record for two reasons,” team member Arthur Phillips shared with Guinness World Records.

“It was a fun puzzle planning the route as some of us are quite mathematically inclined, and additionally, it allowed us to explore parts of London that we hadn’t ever had reason to go to before.”

The previous record-holder, taking the loss in stride, plans to meet The Amersham Ambushers for a celebratory lunch.
