A 16-year-old infected with COVID-19 was one of four recent cases under Category 4, requiring oxygen assistance and is under close monitoring, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at yesterday’s press conference.
The teenager only had one shot of the vaccine, said the minister. Two others were fully vaccinated but were classified as Category 4 due to other health problems requiring hospital care and were exposed to COVID-19.
The one other case admitted to Category 4 yesterday was due to a chest infection directly related to COVID-19 and is an elderly man who has not been vaccinated, said the minister.
