Tutong Police Station police personnel under the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) yesterday detained a 19-year-old local woman for her alleged involvement in a stolen vehicle incident at the convenience store area in Kampong Luagan Dudok, Tutong District.

The Tutong Police Station received a report of a vehicle driven away by an unknown individual, according to the RBPF. The police personnel conducted an investigation, and with the help of the convenience store’s CCTV, detained the suspect.

The suspect is under investigation for theft under Section 379, Chapter 22 of the Penal Code. If found guilty, she may face imprisonment or a fine, or both.

The RBPF reminded the public to be alert when leaving their vehicle and ensure the engine is turned off and the vehicle locked.
