The Brunei International Airport Surau Takmir Committee in cooperation with Mosque Affairs Officers Zone 4 of Brunei-Muara District held a Tedarus ceremony in conjunction with the upcoming 76th birthday of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The Tedarus at the surau was attended by 76 members of the takmir committee, Muslimah, youth and mosque youth groups.
Acting Director of the Mosque Affairs Department under the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri was the guest of honour.
The event aimed to encourage Muslims to be close to Al-Quran and served as part of the programme for His Majesty’s birthday celebrations.
The ceremony also aimed to make mosques, suraus and religious halls as knowledge centres, and encourage participants to learn and read Al-Quran towards achieving Brunei as a Zikir Nation and Brunei Vision 2035.
