Nationwide Tedarus Al-Quran programmes are being held to mark the holy month of Ramadhan.
The Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony of the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) was held yesterday at the Brunei International Airport surau which began with mass Zohor prayer led by Imam Haji Mohammad Ashraf bin Haji Bujang.
It was followed with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Acting Permanent Secretary at the MTIC Haji Mohd Salihin bin Haji Aspar.
This was followed with the mass recitation of verses of Al-Quran. The ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat.
Also present at the ceremony were chief executives, section directors, senior officers, officers and staff of MTIC, its departments and authorities.
Meanwhile, 96 members of the senior citizens association (Wargamas) participated in a five-day Tedarus Al-Quran programme which started yesterday, said Wargamas President Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Mohd Don.
Also present during the opening ceremony were the advisory board member Dato Seri Setia Haji Metussin bin Haji Baki and spouse.
Yesterday’s programme also saw Dean of Syariah Faculty, Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Noralizam bin Haji Aliakbar delivering a talk on ‘Tadabbur’.
Haji Abu Bakar added that the programme, organised by the executive committee of Wargamas will continue until April 5. The Council of Women of Brunei Darussalam (WBD) held their Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony at the residence of Vice President II Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohd Ali yesterday.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by vice president II, followed with the recitation of Tahlil led by Fatimah binti Abdul Ghani.
Doa Selamat was read by Norsinah binti Haji Hidup while Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam was read by Pengiran Hajah Rokiah binti Pengiran Haji Bakar.
The vice president II noted that the activity provides an opportunity for the members to provide alms and gain blessings in the holy month of Ramadhan and share joy that will increase the sustenance of Allah the Almighty.
