The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) donated teaching equipment and materials to eight Chinese schools in the Sultanate during visits to the schools.

On behalf of Taiwan’s Overseas Community Affairs Council, representative Andrew Lee visited the schools in the last two weeks to present the donations.

The schools’ chairpersons, principals and teachers expressed gratitude to the generosity and support.

Lee also expressed appreciation to the board members and teachers for their commitment, efforts and devotion towards future generations.

“They deserve praise and recognition for their enthusiasm and dedication in taking care and motivating students, especially their endeavour in promoting Mandarin, traditional Chinese culture and cultivation of Mandarin-speaking talents over the past 100 years in Brunei,”
he said.

Lee also highlighted that to inject new vigour into the local economy, TECO purchased the equipment and tools from local businesses, including non-touch thermometers, projectors, audio and video systems, lockers, kindergarten desks and chairs, teacher’s tables, whiteboards, carpets, bookcases and refrigerators.

He thanked the Taiwanese Business Association in Brunei Darussalam President Yap Wan Chuan and members for their role in realising the donation with their contribution, energy and resources.
