Teacher’s Day marked with Surah Yaasiin, Tahlil

The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) jointly held a recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil at the Royal Mausoleum yesterday, in conjunction with the 34th Teacher’s Day celebration.

The prayers were dedicated to Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, as well as for His Majesty’s late son, Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim.

Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman was present at the event.

Also in attendance were Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the MoE Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Rector of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), senior officers, heads of departments and officers from both ministries.

The Teacher’s Day theme is ‘Quality Teachers Driving for Educational Transformation’.

The recitation of Surah Yaasiin was led by mosque affairs officer from Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Mosque in Kampong Tamoi, Faizal bin Janip/Rosli. – Azlan Othman
