Teachers’ Day conference kicks off

A conference discussing the education system in the nation began on Tuesday at Chancellor Hall, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, in conjunction with the 34th Teachers’ Day Celebration 2024. 
 

The conference, themed ‘Building a Resilient Education Ecosystem’, served as a platform for educators to enhance their knowledge while engaging in informative discussions and promoting evidence-based practices in education to strengthen quality teaching and learning in the Sultanate.

 
A total of 1,200 participants and guests attended the conference, comprising teachers from both government and private schools, as well as representatives from higher education institutions.

On Tuesday, Associate Professor Lynn Christina Gribble from the University of New South Wales delivered a keynote address ‘Beyond the Hype: Making AI Work for You’.

A learning circle session with the associate professor and a ‘Prompt Engineering Bootcamp’ workshop also took place on Tuesday. 

On Wednesday, conference will feature a keynote address titled Rasulullah Uswah Guru Terbaik Sepanjang Zaman by Ra’es of Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College (KUPU SB) Associate Professor Dr Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani.  

 
Around 77 parallel paper presentations and 10 workshops will also take place. 
 
The Teachers’ Day Conference is jointly organised by the Teachers Unit of the Brunei Darussalam Leadership and Teacher Academy (BDLTA), Department of Educators Management; Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education, Universiti Brunei Darussalam and the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences, Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College (KUPU SB).
