The main objective of the programme was to support the integration of Religious Subjects into the General Education System, which started on November 1, 2023.
One of the key goals was to provide specialised training for Islamic religious teachers to enhance their competence and improve the quality of their teaching, using student-centred methods in line with the National Education System for the 21st Century (SPN21). The programme also aimed to develop skills in early childhood educational psychology and promote creativity in Islamic education.
In addition, the programme sought to incorporate teaching aids, including the use of modern applications and strengthen participants’ ability to coordinate and deliver training and guidance for other religious teachers in their respective schools and clusters.
The programme was conducted in three main phases. The first phase involved a 15-day delivery of the programme content from July 4 to August 1. The second phase focused on the implementation of the content in schools over a six-week period, from August 26 to October 5. The third phase involved the presentation of implementation reports, which took place from October 14-15. – Azlan Othman
