Some 20 travel and tourism teachers attended a talk entitled ‘How to support sustainable tourism?’ at Sultan Hassan Secondary School, Temburong District recently.

Travelhub Tourism Development Manager Muhd Daud bin Abdullah delivered the talk, followed by a group activity where each group had to prepare a presentation on how to promote sustainable tourism in the Sultanate.

The briefing was organised by Sultan Hassan Secondary School as Head Hub of Professional Development Activity under Subject Based Committee (SBC) Travel and Tourism. It is hoped that the information gained from the talk can be used by the teachers in their teaching such as giving local examples to illustrate sustainable tourism.

At present, 19 government secondary schools and colleges and one private school offer travel and tourism as a subject.

Sayyidina Husain Secondary School’s SBC Travel and Tourism Secretary Hajah Latifah binti Haji Sawal presented a certificate of appreciation and souvenir to Muhd Daud. She also presented a certificate of appreciation to Rahimah binti Haji Alli from Sultan Hassan Secondary School for organising the talk.
