TAP to hold SPK roadshow

James Kon

The Employees Trust Fund (TAP) will hold a roadshow on June 21, 22 and 26 to disseminate information on the National Retirement Scheme (SPK) to employers at the Theatre hall of the Ministry of Finance and Economy.

The roadshow is one of the initiatives to brief the public on the management and registration of the SPK as well as employee’s payment as per the scheme’s requirement.

It includes updates on the rate of mandatory contribution from both the employees and employers. There will also be an explanation on how to use e-Amanah as well as SPK’s to strengthen social welfare of TAP members in retirement and the improvements made on current retirement scheme.

The roadshow will also focus on employer’s responsibility to registering and make contribution for eligible employees under SPK, citizens and permanent residents below the age of 60.

Employers also need to understand the impact of failing to register and making contribution to employees including affecting or reducing monthly annuity of recipients after reaching the retirement age.
