TAP scrutinises businesses in Temburong town

Fourteen local workers were recently found without the National Retirement Scheme (SPK) accounts during an operation on 52 business premises at Pekan Bangar, Temburong District.

The operation aimed to ensure employers fulfil their responsibilities of registering their employees with the agency and making contribution to their retirement scheme.

According to Employees Trust Fund (TAP), the employers who fail to abide by the regulation could be fined up to BND3,000 for the first offence and up to BND10,000 for second and subsequent offences.

It also said the process of registration and payment of employee contributions can be made using TAP’s online service through e-Amanah.

“Employers can log into their respective e-Amanah portal accounts through the TAP’s official website,” it said.

Employees with unpaid or unregistered contributions can contact the agency via its hotline at 7302929, while for complaints, email to enforcement@tap.com.bn, visit any TAP branch, or call TAP at 272 2929 during working hours.

For members registered with TAP e-Amanah online service, complaints can be made by logging onto TAP’s official website. – Azlan Othman
