The month of Ramadhan is the most significant of all months and is highly anticipated by Muslims as the month is full of forgiveness and blessings, said Dr Norhazerah binti Baha, Religious Development Officer the Islamic Da’wah Centre during the 128th Munajat on Saturday night.
She said that prior to the arrival of Ramadhan, Muslims are encouraged to prepare themselves for the month.
“This preparation, ‘syumul’, covers our spiritual preparation including reciting zikir, performing Sunnat Tahajjud prayers and reciting selawat,” Dr Norhazerah said during a religious talk on ‘Preparations to Welcome Ramadhan’.
She said it also includes making physical preparation such as fasting and taking care of nutrition.
The religious gathering began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah led by Assistant Religious Head for Meraih Barkah Group Hartini binti Haji Hassim. The event also saw the recitation of Surah Yaasiin, Doa Munajat, Asmaa Ul-Husna and a Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Spouse of Minister of Religious Affairs Datin Hajah Nahriah binti Haji Awang Asbi, Head of Meraih Barkah Group Hajah Florinda binti Haji Majenis, members, female congregants from mosques, suraus and religious halls, as well as officers and staff at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, also participated. – Azlan Othman
