Following heavy downpours and the risk of floods, the Ministry of Health (MoH) reminded the public, especially those living in flood-prone areas, to take precautionary measures to prevent accidents, injuries and probability of food and waterborne diseases, such as cholera, diarrhoea, food poisoning, and vector borne disease such as dengue.
Measures include ensuring a clean water supply; boiling water before consumption or drinking bottled water; cooking food thoroughly and practising personal hygiene, particularly washing hands with clean water and soap after toilet use.
