Take advantage of leadership programme, senior officials told

Deputy Minister (Security and Law) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu urged senior government officials to take advantage of the 30th Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officers (EDPSGO) through participation.

He also hoped that the programme would drive improvement in leadership excellence and management among the senior government officials.

He said this during the opening of the programme at the Civil Service Institute in Kampong Rimba yesterday.

Since its inception in 1996, the first EDPSGO was organised by the Civil Service Institute in collaboration with Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.

The 14-week programme aims to enhance participants’ leadership capabilities, analytical skills in public policy and strategic management, and stakeholder analysis and engagement.

EDPSGO is a flagship programme under the Civil Service Leadership Pipeline (CSLP) initiative created to support the aspirations of Brunei Vision 2035 through the Institutional Development Strategy under the Public Service Framework.

Permanent Secretary (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office Awang Ajman bin Haji Meludin, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office Pengiran Haji Raffizanna bin Pengiran Haji Razali, Director-General of Public Service Department Dr Norfarizal bin Othman and other officials as well as Adjunct Assistant Professor and representative from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore Caroline Brassard was also present. – James Kon
