Mosque, suraus and religious halls nationwide echoed the Takbir Hari Raya Aidiladha last night, the eve of the Feast of Sacrifice, with the main ceremony at Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman attended the ceremony as the guest of honour.
Also present was Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan.
The Takbir Hari Raya Aidiladha was led by mosque youth groups in Brunei-Muara District; officials and staff of the Islamic Studies Department (JPI) and the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD); personnel from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF); as well as students from the Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (ITQSHHB).
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin and a religious talk delivered by Special Duties Officer Grade II of Counselling and Religious Understanding Unit (KAFA) Haji Yussof bin Haji Majid. The Takbir followed, echoed by congregants.
To bless the ceremony, Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam was read by Mosque Affairs Officer of Jame’ ‘Asr Hasssanil Bolkiah, Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Suhaili bin Haji Metali Al-Hafiz.
The Takbir ceremony was held to enliven the eve of Hari Raya Aidiladha.
Other objectives included upholding aspirations towards Zikir Nation, and raising appreciation for the meaning of the Takbir.
