Tahlil for late royals

The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) held a recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil ceremony for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and for His Majesty’s late son Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim at the Royal Mausoleum, Jalan Tutong yesterday.

The ceremony was organised by the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department.

Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof was the guest of honour.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil led by Grade 1 Imam at Sufri Bolkiah Mosque Perpindahan Berakas Abdul Razak bin Samat.

Permanent secretary, deputy permanent secretary (infocommunications) and acting deputy permanent secretary (transport) at the MTIC; chief executives, heads of departments, senior officials, officers and staff of the MTIC were also present.

Meanwhile, Sumbangsih Mulia vendors, staff and their families also held a similar Tahlil ceremony for His Majesty’s late parents and late son yesterday.

Chairman of Sumbangsih Mulia building Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh King Chin attended the ceremony.

Some 100 people attended the event led by former student of Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Abdul Qayyum bin Kamarudjaman.
