The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) held a Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil recitation ceremony for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and for His Majesty’s late son Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim at the Royal Mausoleum yesterday.
The event was held in conjunction with the RBAF’s 61st anniversary.
Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof attended the event.
Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Acting Permanent Secretary at the MinDef; Acting Director of the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT), senior officers, officers and personnel of the MinDef and the RBAF were also in attendance.
The recitation of Surah Yaasiin, Tahlil and Doa Arwah was led by Staff Officer Grade I Religious Operation from JAMA’AT Major Abdul Mujib bin Japar.
Similar events were also held concurrently at all suraus of RBAF camps and bases including Pulau Baru-Baru Mosque.
