The State Mufti’s Office at the Prime Minister’s Office held a Tahlil recitation ceremony for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and for His Majesty’s late son Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim.
The ceremony took place at the royal mausoleum in Jalan Kubah Makam Diraja yesterday in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Fatwa Institution in the Sultanate.
State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned attended.
Deputy State Mufti Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Japar bin Haji Mat Dain @ Maidin, Assistant State Mufti (Buhuth) Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mazanan bin Haji Yusof, Assistant State Mufti (Ifta) Dr Awang Haji Dannie bin Haji Abdullah, Acting Director of Administration, officers and staff at the State Mufti’s Office were also present.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Surah Yaasiin led by Senior Istinbat Officer Haji Muhammad Ahmad Roza bin Haji Daud, followed by Tahlil, Doa Tahlil and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam led by Assistant Head of Fatwa Secretariat Haji Hazimin bin Haji Ibrahim.
