The Ministry of Defence (MinDef), the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE), and Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) held separate Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil recitation ceremonies for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and for His Majesty’s late son Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim at the Royal Mausoleum in conjunction with Ramadhan yesterday.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, RBAF Commander Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, and the acting permanent secretary at the MinDef attended MinDef and RBAF’s event.
The recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil was led by Major Ariffin bin Amit @ Hamid from the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT).
Meanwhile, Acting Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Paduka Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid was guest of honour at the MoFE’s ceremony.
Also present were Acting Permanent Secretary (Fiscal I) at the MoFE Haji Asrul Adrain bin Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Ahmad and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Trade and Industry) at the MoFE Mohammad Harris bin Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim.
The recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil was led by District Mosque Affairs Officer at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Pengiran Haji Mohd Hafizuddin bin Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.
BIBD and its Group of Companies also held its annual Tahlil ceremony at the Royal Mausoleum in Jalan Tutong. The recitation was led by Mosque Affairs Officer from Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque Imam Haji Hamdini bin Haji Gharif.
Assistant State Mufti (Buhuth) cum Chairman of BIBD Syariah Advisory Body Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mazanan bin Haji Yusof, BIBD’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Junaidi bin Haji Masri and Acting Managing Director of the Brunei Investment Agency cum member of BIBD’s Board of Directors Haji Sofian bin Haji Mohammad Jani were in attendance.
