Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (ITQSHHB) has opened applications for new students for the Higher Diploma programme in Aliyah Qira’at for the 2023-2026 session until February 22.
The programme is open to Muslim citizens and permanent residents with credit in O-Level Malay, obtained jayyid (good) grade in Brunei Religious Education Certificate (SPUB) examination, including jayyid in Al-Quran and Arabic language or in compulsory subjects (Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Tauhid and Tarikh) or its equivalent.
Prospective students are also eligible with four credits in O-Level or International General Certificate Secondary Education (IGCSE) Level or equivalent, including scoring credit (C6) in Arabic language.
Applicants who have memorised at least 10 chapters of Al-Quran will have an advantage.
Applicants must also pass an interview and have a health certificate from a recognised government health centre.
Non-citizens with a parent working in a government department or a government-linked-company can apply by writing in a special application letter addressed to the Chairman of the Board at ITQSHHB via the institute’s principal.
Application forms can be obtained at the institute’s office at Simpang 175, KM2, Jalan Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, Bandar Seri Begawan during office hours. Application forms can also be downloaded from www.kheu.gov.bn.
