A section of the floor of a wooden house in Kampong Sungai Asam collapsed on Monday afternoon, the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) said yesterday.

Three firefighters from Sungai Kebun Fire Station, led by Haji Ali bin Haji Md Noor were dispatched to the scene after receiving information.

Firefighters found a part of the kitchen floor, measuring five metres by six metres in length, had collapsed. The 20-metre by 10-metre wooden house is built with zinc roofing and wooden pillars.

Following the incident, the FRD calls for the public to ensure that their homes are in a safe condition by checking for cracks or damages on the building structure.
