The new Toyota Corolla Cross with a facelift was unveiled by Toyota Brunei yesterday. It features four updates – monochromatic grille, 10” multi-infotainment display, electric parking brake (EPB) and wireless charger.
The new Corolla Cross, with tagline ‘SUV for every lifestyle’, comes in two variants – high grade and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) – and colours such as Platinum White Pearl, Attitude Black and Metal Stream as well as special order only Nebula Blue Metallic.
The new sport utility vehicle (SUV) comes with new seats made from premium leather, 60:40 split-fold and reclining rear seats.
Both variants boast a combination meter with silver trim while the HEV variant includes a hybrid system indicator.
The new Corolla Cross’ exterior upgrades include rear combination lamps and 18” alloy wheels. The power back door comes with a kick sensor for the high grade variant and e-latch for the HEV variant for improved functionality.
The new SUV’s safety features include seven supplemental restraint system (SRS) airbags, clearance sonars, engine immobiliser system, rear cross traffic alert (RCTA) and blind spot monitor (BSM). It also features electronic brake force distribution, vehicle stability control (VSC) and hill start assist (HSA).
The HEV variant has Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) which includes a pre-collision system (PCS), dynamic radar cruise control (DRCC), lane departure alert (LDA) and lane tracing assist (LTA).
The new Corolla Cross is powered by a 1.8 litre four-cylinder, in-line type, 16-valve dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) engine with a chain drive and dual variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i). It also boasts best-in-class turning radius of 5.2 metres. – James Kon
