Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) launched its 16th Home Showcase Festival, offering both homeowners and prospective homeowners a chance to experience the latest and best in home design and lifestyle options at the BIBD Kiulap branch yesterday.

The festival, themed ‘Towards a Sustainable Home Lifestyle’, returned after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

It showcases the latest trends in exterior and interior design, highlighting the concept of sustainable living and how to create a home that is both stylish and environmentally-friendly.

Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak launched the event.

Throughout the festival, which ends tomorrow, visitors interested in purchasing their dream home can also speak to BIBD’s home financing experts to take advantage of BIBD’s Syariah-compliant home financing solutions with Annual Profit Rate (APR) starting from as low as four  per cent.

The Department of Energy at the Prime Minster’s Office is also showcasing solar panels for residential homes and demos on energy efficient appliances for the public interested in adopting a more sustainable lifestyle.

A Fireside Chat will focus on sustainable living and how households can implement sustainable practices in their daily lives.

The Home Showcase is a cashless event. Customers can use BIBD QuickPay to pay at any of the participating local food vendors.

Also taking part in the festival is the latest cohort of BIBD’s Special Entrepreneurship Empowerment and Development Scheme (BIBD SEED) programme.

Customers signing up for financing or credit card products throughout the festival will also be eligible for fee waivers, vouchers and exclusive BIBD gifts.

The event is also part of BIBD’s initiatives under the BIBD Sustainability Framework and support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
