The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications in cooperation with Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and the Land Transport Department (JPD) initiated a series of surveys to understand the need of public transportation to improve the current bus system by obtaining views and input from stakeholders towards formulating a long-term strategy in creating an efficient, and easily accessible connectivity system for ease of mobility in the Sultanate.
In addition to proposals to improve the connectivity and reliability of the core network route services of public bus, there are also proposals for on-demand transport services of either sharing a ride or personal ride by utilising e-hailing technology.
