Motorists are urged to supplicate and recite zikir before starting their journey and while behind the wheel to protect them and for assistance from Allah the Almighty.
Head of Counselling and Religious Understanding Unit at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Saharuddinbin Haji Patra highlighted this during Munajat night at Ash Shaliheen Mosque in Jalan Menteri Besar.
He said avoiding sources of accident is in line with Maqasid Syariah (Islamic legal doctrine) which is the protection of life and property and in accordance with fiqhiyyah method which underlines that catastrophe must be avoided.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha as the Chairman of National Road Safety Council (MKKJR) attended the event.
The Munajat held for the 112th time by the MoRA and Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications was coordinated by the MKKJR to mark World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims 2023.
Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary led the religious gathering with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah.
Assistant Director of Research and Publication Centre at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali Muhammad Faishal An-Nawawi bin Haji Saban, as a member of Persatuan Motosikal Darussalam, led the recitation of Surah Yaasiin.
Doa Munajat was later read followed by Selawat Tafrijiyyah, and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The weekly gathering saw participation from mosque takmir committee members and congregants from 80 mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide. – Azlan Othman
