Supplement bike fest with history programme

The 21st Borneo Island International Big Bike Festival (BIIBBF), known as the largest high-powered motorcycle event in Borneo, will celebrate its sixth edition this year, with Brunei Darussalam selected as the host country.

Brunei History Centre (PSB) held a press conference at its premises to introduce the Al-Mutaqa Malay Islamic Monarchy programme in conjunction with the event.

The joint programme is organised by PSB in collaboration with the Secretariat Office of the Malay Islamic Monarchy Supreme Council (MTMIB) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Ministry of Education and Darussalam Motorcycle Association (PEMODA).

PSB’s acting deputy Principal Muhammad Faisal bin Haji Mat Salleh told the press conference that the event is slated for December 9 at 1.30pm at the PSB building. One event highlighted by the acting deputy principal is a history briefing by PSB principal Dr Haji Muhammad Hadi bin Muhammad Melayong and BIIBBF participants.

Among the objectives of the programme is to introduce historical information methods to engage Brunei and Borneo communities, especially the youth.

It also seeks to preserve history by exploring the early relationship between Brunei and Borneo, promoting an active lifestyle and fostering appreciation for history within the community. – Adib Noor
